Invermere Companion Animal Network‘s Annual General Meeting (AGM) reporting on the 2020 Fiscal Year will be held a little differently this year in compliance with Covid-19 restrictions.
Members of ICAN (active membership is required) are invited to attend the AGM. If you are not currently a Member, but wish to become one and are interested in attending the AGM – you can do that beforehand by clicking here.
AGM Meeting Date: Sunday, May 2, 2021 Time: at 1:00PM Via Zoom
Due to current COVID-19 protocols the AGM will be conducted online via Zoom. Up to 10 members are currently allowed to be in an outside space 2 meters apart in the ICAN yard, if you prefer to be there in person. You will require access to your tablet, Smartphone or laptop for the duration of the meeting as voting will be accounted for electronically. Address, should you plan to attend outdoors at Shelter is: 455 Panorama Drive, Invermere, BC . Advance notice is required if you intend to be physically present, so we do not exceed maximum allowable.
Members will receive a Zoom invitation on Friday, April 30. Additional information on how to sign in on the day of the meeting will also be included in this email.

Ozzie’s Amusements held a go-cart and mini golf fundraiser August 26, 2020, with proceeds benefiting ICAN. It was a fun and very enjoyable summer evening.
Many thanks to Ozzie’s and also those who came out and supported our rescue. Pictured herein are Ozzie’s owners Katherine and Cris presenting their cheque to ICAN which also included a personal contribution.
Beyond this Public Event, Ozzie’s has kindly offered to host a BBQ for ICAN VOLUNTEERS at the same time. Hope to see you there!
If you ARE AN ICAN VOLUNTEER and want to attend the volunteer BBQ you MUST RSVP as quickly as possible to email@example.com. We are limited to 50 people due to COVID so it is essential that you register your intention to attend. We have also circulated a volunteer poster and emailed all volunteers.
On Sunday, June 28th, 2020 ICAN held its 2019 AGM (annual general meeting). During 2019 ICAN was able to generate revenue while developing a strong connection with community partners for animal care and fundraising efforts, meanwhile assisting 156 companion animals. The Board of Directors added two new members for seven in total, allowing all executive positions to be filled and resulting in three Members at Large. The AGM had a record number of members (31) turn out for an important vote on the possible purchase of property, which was passed by a great majority of members. Currently due to COVID our shelter is closed to visitors until further notice. However our dedicated team of volunteers continues to provide the utmost care for our shelter animals and offers appointments for viewings and adoptions. In addition we will assist with Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) of feral cats if funding allows us to do so.

When our furry friends’ parents book their Paw’fect Package, Fairmont Hot Springs Resort donates $5.00 to ICAN.
Pet photos with Santa was held Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort (Santa’s cabin) with all cash donations from photos going to ICAN.
Fairmont CEO Vivek Sharma also dropped by with a cheque for us from monies collected through their Paw’fect Package.
Our silent auction event held November 2019 at the Invermere Veterinary Hospital raised over $2,000 for ICAN animals!
We would like to thank our local Invermere Veterinary Clinic for hosting this auction, and a special thanks to all of you who placed bids.

This huge THANK YOU is going out to all the KSCU employees who donated a portion of their pay in October 2019, to a local charity. This year they chose ICAN. The KSCU donation was presented to ICAN President, Darla Spiry on Credit Union Day in October. Way to go KSCU !! – ICAN greatly appreciates your community spirit, caring and support.
