Male – Black – Longhair … Estimated birthdate: September 5, 2020

Passion is a real sweetheart. He is a cuddly, affectionate and fearless long haired, mostly black kitten.
In his foster home, he is currently enjoying the company of a gentle giant of a dog who is shepard/rottie and over 80 pounds.
That’s what we mean when we say fearless 🙂

We don’t know Passion’s background. He was found wandering alone outside in a field, hungry and dirty with matted fur. Passion displays the lack of knowledge about being a cat that comes from early separation from his mum. He is still learning some of the things he needs to know to be a healthy kitten.

Frequent brushing with a toothbrush is helping him learn how to clean himself with his tongue. Because he’s a long-haired cat, this skill will be extremely important to help him develop good grooming habits. Currently he needs a little bum wash with a warm, moist soft cloth after each trip to the litter box to keep him clean and fresh – all part of what ICAN Foster Volunteers do to help little beauties like Passion on their way to their forever family.

November 12, 2020 Update:

Our little man has come along way in the last few weeks. He started at a scant 685g when he was brought into ICAN.  Slowly he learned how to eat kibble along with his wet food and has steadily gained weight and muscle With his newly developed strength he is happy to climb up and down the stairs! He is now at 1080g which means he’s big enough for his neuter surgery. A huge milestone!

Passion is as cuddly and affectionate as always and purrs like mad whenever anybody comes near him. His eye colour has stabilized into a beautiful gray-green. It’s hard to tell with kittens this young, but it looks like he’s going to have a double coat that is long, silky and luxurious.

All our hard work with the toothbrush has really paid off and he’s now practicing  licking his paws and wiping his own face.

Congratulations Passion! You are now ready for your forever home.

Coco EWB

Female – Calico – Pastel – white toes, green-gold eyes – Estimated Birthdate: April 27, 2019

Personality:  Born feral, Coco has taken some time to learn to relax and trust.  She remains independent until she has things figured out but once she trusts, she loves brushing/ petting and hanging around her folk. She will beg for attention, by rubbing against, poking or the rare love nip. Spayed, Litter box trained and indoor fostered.

This little darling has been lovingly nurtured and socialized in the home of one of ICAN’s most experienced foster volunteers along with her sister Marchesa who is also available for adoption, should you be looking for two adorable young ladies. She is now very ready for the next step of finding her own forever family. Please give us a call at 250-341-7888 to make an appointment to meet her.

Zo Zo

Female – Tuxedo – Estimated age: 1-1/2 years old

Surrendered to ICAN. Adopted together with her sister Motley

Female: Calico-Pastel .. Estimated Birthdate: Feb 8, 2011

Doobert was reluctantly surrendered to ICAN along with her sister Itty due to circumstances beyond their owner’s control. Doobert and her sister cat were indoor/outdoor, friendly and well adjusted when they arrived at ICAN.

Doobert, affectionately known to ICAN Volunteers as “Doobie” has been at the shelter for a while now and she is more than ready for her new home!

Doobie would be best suited for a mature family or at least one with older children.  She loves pets and attention and will come seeking loving from humans, but she is not comfortable with the smells of other cats or animals on you.

While at the shelter, we have noticed that Doobie will nip or nibble on you when she wants more attention but that may change once she is back in “her own home” setting, with regular family around her. That said, she is best suited for people who would understand this need or behavior, should it continue once she is out of a shelter environment.  Although she was surrendered with her sister, she does prefer individual attention. She gets along just fine with other cats at the shelter.

Male – Ginger & White Tabby Estimated Birthdate: June 4, 2020

Meet Todd. He has just arrived in September to ICAN shelter after been found alone and apparently abandoned, in what we think might have been a former residence. He was taken into care and quickly into the Vet to make sure he was well and since then he has also been neutered and will be receiving normal vaccinations.

He’s just a little guy – exploring his new surroundings and meeting our ICAN residents, so we haven’t had a lot of time yet to get to know him.

If you would like to meet him and perhaps welcome him into your home and family, give us a call. We will be happy to make an appointment to introduce him to you. 250-341-7888
