Rescuing, Sheltering and Rehoming Companion Animals in the Columbia Valley of BC since 2007

Double D (DD)

MALE – White & Brown – Estimated Birthdate: March 10, 2017

DD (Double D) showed up as a feral at a Valley home and that family worked with him over a short while until he became socialized to humans. He was recently surrendered to ICAN to rehome, now he has developed manners and a really good attitude towards domestic living 🙂 Turns out he is a really sweet boy! He turned in his feral card and is now very happy to be getting pets & snuggles!

ICAN has already had him neutered and he’s received his pre-Adoption vaccines so is ready anytime to find his very own family.

DD is a lap cat who is good with other cats BUT he’s a lover not a fighter, and won’t defend himself against other animals. For that reason we think he needs to be either in an only pet home, or to be with cats who like other cats. Ideally we think he should be an indoors only boy, or have a fenced protected “catio” area so he doesn’t go backwards, having being a feral before.

DD loves people, snuggles and he purrs as soon as someone he likes enters the room.

He does seem to be scared of loud noises, so initially we thought a quieter home, perhaps with an older couple, or family with older kids might be a good fit.

HOWEVER we have noticed recently how well he responds to children. One of our shelter staff introduced her daughters to DD and was amazed at how he responded. Normally a little aloof, his demeanor changed completely! He came down from his bed ate some food and played with the girls and his toys. This now makes us wonder if he’s been around children in the past. He is usually pretty quiet when around adults, even when he is being petted, he responds but he doesn’t move towards it. It was a surprise to see him interacting with the girls.

So, if you think Double D might be a good fit with your family, please give us a call and make an appointment to meet this handsome young fellow. 250-341-7888
