Kitten Crusade – Ongoing Commitment!

Kitten-Crusade-2013-Final.page1_Do you have unwanted, unexpected or wild kittens at your home in the Columbia Valley?  ICAN can help!

Through our ICAN Kitten crusade we accept all kittens (space at the shelter permitting) from individuals who are looking for homes for them.  We can absolutely guarantee that all kittens brought to us will  receive the best care, attention and love while with us and that we will seek the same for the homes they are adopted into.  All kittens will be spayed or neutered and vaccinated before being adopted.

Year after year, we see and hear of multiple litters of kittens who are looking for homes.  These kittens are often given away for free and are not spayed or neutered, thus potentially adding to the pet overpopulation problem.

As our thanks to you, we will have the Momma cat spayed free of charge, so you never have to worry about unexpected or unwanted litters again!

The #1 rule of this program is that ICAN must receive all kittens in the litter.  If you find homes for a couple on your own, unfortunately, we will not be able to spay the mom at no charge.

Please call us at 341-7888 if you would like to discuss this opportunity with us.  We are eager to help, no matter what your circumstances are!

Bugsy (Rico)

Bugsy-n

Update:   Bugsy is now with his new family and has been renamed Rico.    His new playmate, Sabrina thinks he’s OK to have around!

Bugsy is always on the move! Hence the photo, he would not stop moving.  He can be a little bit shy at first, but comes around quickly.  He loves to play with his sister Boo.   Apr. 30/15 birthdate

Both Bugsy and Boo are just new arrivals at ICAN and are quite out of sorts and timid with their new surroundings.  Their foster parents of about 2 months say that they are very attached to each other and also their humans.  They’d like nothing better than to be adopted together immediately.

Bistro

We got a call that a kitten had been seen, running up into a motor of a truck, parked in front of the Bistro.   Within 15 minutes a volunteer attended and after about a 10 minute search, the owner of the vehicle came out to see what all the people who were watching were doing around her truck.   She opened the hood and sure enough there was this little tyke, curled up in the corner, scared witless.

She was taken to the vet then to the home of one of our volunteers where she ate, had some water and promptly passed right out in the crate.   We have named her Bistro and this little survivor has turned into an affectionate love machine already.  Poor little muffin, probably hadn’t had a good, safe night’s sleep in a long time.  Thank you to the caring witnesses who made the call and helped save her life.     Female.  Still a kitten.   Rescued Oct 6, 2015.   ADOPTED OCTOBER 2015

Batman

BATMAN1Batman is a purr machine and a real calm cool dude.  He is good at accepting new comers into his domain and loves to snuggle with humans.  Both he and Riddler have been at ICAN for some time now and are waiting for the right people to come and adopt them before they become even more permanent fixtures by being moved in with the adult cats.  ADOPTED NOVEMBER, 2015

Riddler

Birthdate:   May 10, 2015
Riddler is a total cuddler and a little on the sassy side.  While still a little timid when there’s too much sudden action or loudness, she loves to hog all the human attention in the kitten room and will butt right in if she thinks she’s not getting her fair share.  She will show her wish to be dominant with newcomers in her living space but quickly adjusts to sharing.      ADOPTED NOVEMBER, 2015
